Open educational resources (OER) are super helpful for educators to be able to distribute, remix, and even edit the content they are sharing with their students. It is a flexible way for students to have free access as well as creative flexibility with educational resources. This is also a helpful tool for teachers, schools, and students from low SES to have access to updated and useful academic platforms and information.

Here is a link to an article that talks about the current prices of educational materials such as textbooks, academic software, and more, and how they are comparable to OER's as far as course outcomes and learning. They found that there was no significant difference in outcomes between students who use more costly textbooks and students who use OER's which reflects similar quality material. However, there was a difference in students dropping out of courses due to financial stress in the costs of textbook and course material in comparison to those students who use OER's.

During assignment 4 I learned a lot about the use of Microsoft Power Point and the different tools that comes within this software. I learned more about recording a power point, the use of notes, animations, as well as Power Point templates. I really enjoyed this assignment, as well as presenting information within the virtual platform and applying this into education. This assignment allowed me to explore an area of interest I enjoyed, and also allowed me to step into the position as an educator teaching virtual classes.
