Open educational resources (OER) are super helpful for educators to be able to distribute, remix, and even edit the content they are sharing with their students. It is a flexible way for students to have free access as well as creative flexibility with educational resources. This is also a helpful tool for teachers, schools, and students from low SES to have access to updated and useful academic platforms and information. Here is a link to an article that talks about the current prices of educational materials such as textbooks, academic software, and more, and how they are comparable to OER's as far as course outcomes and learning.
